The Bio

I am a Texas Tech graduate but a huge TCU supporter on the side (Fear the Frog). College football Saturdays and tailgates are where it's at. Born and raised in Texas. I am the mother of three boys under seven and the wife to an amazing man. Seriously outnumbered (no joke, the only other female is the family dog). I have a wonderful family who supports me in all my dreams and endeavors. A lover of fresh cut flowers, manicures, and pedicures, a good facial, essential oils, dark chocolate, hot tamales candy, hot tea, and wine. A devoted lover of all things interior design and home.

Why did you decide to start Ravishing in Plaid?

Simply put, I love to write. I love to create. Ravishing in Plaid was started as an avenue for these two things in 2012. But it turned into so much more. I enjoyed nurturing the blog and watching in grow. I enjoyed getting to know my readers. I enjoyed the content I got to create...a passion for home decor, fashion, lifestyle. But as I got busier, the blog started to take a back burner to real life. I was working on extending my marketing business in 2016 and we had just had our second child. The blog started to feel like a chore. I was trying to keep up with the Joneses (those beautiful bloggers who post seven days a week...seriously, more power too them, y'all are amazing). But a seven day a week posting schedule just was not working for me. After a while I was paying for a domain and a website I was no longer using, and frankly I thought I would never use again. So I shut Ravishing in Plaid down.

However, it turns out I missed having a creative outlet.

It's going to be a slow process, as I'm starting with new material (from scratch). But honestly, I'm not the same person I was when I started Ravishing in Plaid...and frankly I see a new direction for the blog. And I don't plan to post seven days a mom of three boys and a work from home business got time for that! :) But I do plan to update the website a couple times a week. You can also find me on my social platforms. I update those almost daily with regular content.

So without further adieu, the new Ravishing in Plaid 2.0!

Besides chasing kids around, what else do you do for fun?

I love to doodle (I'm not sure if you could call it art). My best times are spent in front of the TV watching true crime stories and creating away. There is something therapeutic in it for me. I also enjoy bible journaling to whatever bible study I am doing at that moment. And on those days where I actually get out of the house by myself, you can find me at IKEA, HomeGoods or At Home (coffee in hand) me some good home decor retail therapy.
