It's always hard for me to focus this time of the year. I think it's probably not just me. I dream of warmer weather, sundresses, iced tea, lakeside lounging....and lots of late nights spent outside with a glass of wine in front of a fire pit. The outside oasis should be a must for all moms...it's like an extension of the date night, when you can't find a babysitter to watch the kids. Just imagine it, you put the kids to bed and walk out your backdoor and there is this wonder place to curl up and relax. I have never had the backyard oasis I've wanted. Our previous house had no trees, no patio, straight sunlight all day beaming down (and for all of those Texas natives...you know how hot that can be). I couldn't even keep succulents alive in our old backyard because how hot it got. Succulents people! But the Burke clan recently moved into a larger home (to accommodate the expanding family of five, previously four). And with this home came a much nicer backyard just calling to be revamped. Perfect trees, the right amount of shade to protect from the hot Texas summers. I'm so excited to get started on this project. I'll be updating you as I work through it, but the first step to any project is inspiration.
I love color, the more the better. And for this particular space I am really being pulled toward bohemian vibes.
So with that being said, it's time for me to start conceptualizing this project, that I hopefully get to start at the end of April. #FingerCrossed
